TSP2. Collaboration with EU/extra EU Programmes

Mission

Generate a meaningful and lasting impact of the EERA Joint Programme Smart Cities on EU and non-EU programmes, aligned with SRIA goals, through joint projects.

About the sub-programme

Within TSP2, we aim to strengthen the institutional leadership of the EERA Joint Programme on Smart Cities, driving the adoption of smart and sustainable energy solutions. TSP2 enhances coordinated efforts through synergistic projects to advance policy implementation and stimulate market innovation.

Ongoing activities

  • Create viable project partnerships that serve the Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA) goals of the EERA JPSC
  • Partner with and/or liaise with relevant networks (CET, DUT, Mission 100 Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities, and the NetZeroCities platform)
  • Helping strong projects by our members move forward by giving them a JPSC certificate
  • Strengthen intra- and extra-JPSC dialogue among universities, research centres, industry, and policymakers to accelerate technology transfer
  • Facilitate dialogue between technical innovation and regulatory needs, ensuring that policy frameworks effectively support emerging energy solutions
  • Collaborate with local governments to experiment with co-creation approaches and participatory governance, in line with the Covenant of Mayors and the SDGs, and to engage local authorities in the co-creation of smart energy plans and strategic roadmaps.
